THE SELFPORTRAIT SERIES
I have always been creative, constantly trying out new projects. I've done acryl painting, stone carving, papermaché and felting.
Constantly experimenting with new ways to work with different materials I began in 2011 cutting pictures out of magazines, newspapers and any paper products I could find. Inspired by a class I took at the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center in Michigan / USA I started with collages.Collages are now a new component of my artwork. Some contain paper, some contain fabric and all collages emphasize strong color.
The SELFPORTRAIT SERIES has been created for an upcoming show in the GM Design Center, late summer 2011. This artwork captures my experiences being a visitor in Metro Detroit my ideas and new thinking processes initiated through cultural differences.
